Dr Amir Ashrafidazeh

General Surgeon

Dr Amir Ashrafizadeh (Ashrafi) is an Australian-trained general surgeon. After completing his general surgery training at Royal North Shore Hospital, he undertook further subspecialty fellowships in Gastrointestinal, Hepatobiliary, Peritoneal Surface Oncology and Liver surgery at Hornsby, Royal North Shore and St George Hospitals.

His main area of special interest is abdominal surgery, including minimally invasive surgery for complex and simple hernias and gallbladder operations, benign and malignant conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, as well as doing diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy.

Dr Ashrafi has a keen academic interest and completed a Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney. He has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at Australian and European conferences.

Outside work, Amir enjoys spending time with his wife and their two toddler boys.

He consults at several locations, including Elanora Heights, and operates at the Mater Hospital in North Sydney.
